Windows 7 won't recognize my Display Driver

My Acer Aspire 5250-0639's hard drive crashed recently, which I am trying to fix right now (Link to thread) and in the mean time, I have swapped the hard drive for an old 80 GB I had that had Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on it. It didn't recognize my display so it used the generic drivers. However, after installing the VGA driver from the Acer support site, and restarted my computer, it still runs at 1024 by 768 when it should be running 1366 by 768. Catalyst Control Center installed with the driver, but it won't open. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May have found a solution. Finally got fed up with acer's drivers so I went to AMD's website and used their auto-detect program and it listed my hardware and found the right driver in 2 seconds. It's downloading now.

The AMD auto-dectect program worked great. It works now at the full resolution. So for AMD users I recommend their auto-detect tool. I believe NVIDIA also has an auto-detect tool for their customers.
