Normally when you edit partitions on your disks it formats them. I hope you have a copy of your OS handy.

It sounds like you wiped your hdd(s) because you were messing around with the partitions.

My opinion: Use your OS install disk to edit the partitions how you would like & reinstall.

I realize you were at a point where it wasn't booting, but later in your post your comments made me think you've got it booting again.

If it does boot into Windows, post a screenshot of Disk Management, with the window maximized and columns/panes adjusted to show max info. And please explain one more time exactly what kind of partitioning you want to end up with.

If you're not able to boot, this may be of help: Repair Install

Please use a third party boot disk like Acronis Disk Director (shareware) or Partition Wizard (freeware) for the job. These boot disks shall partition to your heart's desire without the loss of data.

Read all about how to partition with the Partition Wizard and a link to download the boot disk at Partition Wizard : Use the Bootable CD.
