I am glad to say that I called Apple and the problem was fixed. I should have thought of this... BUT this is how it is done.
1. Uninstall in the order as listed:
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
3. Download and install iTunes
And that was it! I should have considered the other software Apple puts on the computer, but I figured it all uninstalled along with iTunes. Oh well. It works like before now. Other than iTunes failing naturally and iPods having problems. Thank you for everyones help. May this post help others in need.
