iPod "driver" problems

I don't know if this is quite the spot for this, but my iPod stopped working on the computer after.. something. I don't remember what I did. But it won't show up as "iPod" in my computer or in iTunes. I uninstalled the driver, installed iTunes, and plugged it back it, but it doesn't work right. It shows up as a camera? And the space it shows is just the free space. I blame Windows 7! Any help?

Thank you.

First off, your computer will show your iPod as a camera (mine does) but it will still work just fine.

What happens when you plug in your iPod now?

Well, I know it shows it that way, but the WAY it shows it is messed up. Showing just the free space isn't normal, last I knew. If I plug it in, it makes the ~boodoop~ noise. Then it does nothing. I can see it in Computer and that's it. I can't access the music or find it in iTunes, it was working perfectly before too.

OK, I see.

Let me think. Ok, so Windows can sense it, but iTunes cant. This seems like an iTunes issue then. Try cleaning it COMPLETELY off you computer, the reinstall another version.

It WAS a different version. I installed it to the newer one. I don't like updates. :|

Um, about two days ago. I don't recall doing anything. I just noticed that I couldn't put any music on because it didn't show up. So I've been fiddling with uninstalling the driver and iTunes and such.

Ok. Check to see if you have a restore point from BEFORE then. If so, restore to it. If its not your iPod, it will be fixed.

Before you try that though, try installing an OLDER version of iTunes. There is a slim chance it will work.
