    This driver?

Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver HP Pavilion dm4-3099se Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Did you install the chipset driver first?

(Did windows come pre-installed or did you do a fresh install yourself?)

Do USB 2.0 devices work on those ports?

i did a fresh install and i think the 2.0 are the ports that are not working because the one thats on the right side of the computer is working.
there are 2 ports on the lesft side of the computer and only one on the right i dont know witch ones are 2.0 or 3.0 and i dont remember wich driver i installed in what order

No worries mate - glad to hear it's working. If it's all good, please mark the thread as solved :)

(For future reference, always install the chipset drivers first otherwise other components, like USB 3.0 for example, won't work.)
