Hello buju123.

What do you mean by the bolded segments of your statement?

A DVD-ROM drive is not a DVD burner (DVD-RW or DVD-RAM drive)

A DVD burner should be detected as such in either Windows XP or Windows 7, which comes preinstalled with generic drivers for an assortment of different drives and hardware.

To burn a DVD-R you need both a DVD burner and burning software like Imgburn:-
