m17x R3 6970m driver. Whats best working ccc driver for switchable gr.

i have a m17x r3 having trouble keeping the switchable graphics working.
    specs: m17x r3
    proc. 2630qm
gpu: 6970m with switchable intel graphics
    screen: 1920 by 1080 non 3-d
hard drives: kingston hyperx ssd os / stock 750bg dell harddrive as second. but have the ssd in the second slot and regular in first slot due to the sata problem with reading correct speed.

my problem is everytime i reinstall or try a different setup i get fooled. i start fresh, or uninstall old drivers ccc and do driver sweep till vga on both gpu. and i install the dell driver that puts drivers on both gpu and integraded switchable. great works good switches back and forth no problem. then i take what ever driver im thinking is working at the time and install it over the dell driver. all works good, get ccc and can switch cards. then a couple days and few restarts later. they no longer switch back and forth. i've read that not all are compatable with the switchable mobile cards but hav'nt really seen a post that says this driver update works for 6970m with switchable graphics so just seeing if any of you guys have some experience and know exactly which driver works well with switchable graphics. would leave it on the stock dell driver but get messages from games like you need to update you graphics driver, then i do and it starts all over again. don't mind if it's not the latest and greatest driver although the most current working switchable would be great. i know this post is a little thrown together so ask if any additional info is needed will be monitoring post before i go any further installing programs and such.

    Hello BDogg464,

When it comes to switchable graphics drivers, installing new ones can be an art form in itself.

It's often the case that upgrades are done by installing new ones over old ones. You cannot perform driver sweeps between upgrades, it won't work that way.

The only resource for switchable drivers would be your orginal cd and the ones on the dell site.. They're the only ones guaranteed to work 100% for your card.

There a site run by this fella who makes custom switchable drivers for Intel/AMD combination cards like yours. He offers a guide and FAQ on how to deal with problems that you may face with those drivers...

Read the FAQs and the guides carefully before attempting to try out his drivers.

also does anyone else have trouble downloading the drivers from the site, always ask me for the self reconition software, then doesn't work not compatable or something... so if you have a working switchable graphics driver link that would be awesome..... currently have installed the 12.7 beta and profiles, cards switch back and forth but certain games wont run, skyrim and others.... but this is second run with the 12.7 and they have the problems described in the first post. work then stop switching a couple days after install.

well i guess fixed for now did'nt last long, everything installs and runs fine but now when i restart it sits on the black screen for like 20 seconds before starting back up. no errors or anything but can't be normal. and im refering to after installing the 12.6 driver mentioned above. does not do it before the driver is installed. i guess ima try out the dell driver and see how it runs games.... might reread everything and try the 12.6 again, mighta skipped something. but the question is i guess,

Is the restart taking so long because the altered 12.6 driver is unknown or not from dell.

Thats strange. The long restart could be a side effect of those drivers, but the only way to be sure is to revert back to Dell drivers and find out. Yours is the first time I've heard of that issue.
