    HP PSC 2410 Solution W7

    Hope this helps

Go to Start -> Devices and Printers -> Click "Add a Printer" -> "Add Local Printer" -> Select Use an Existing Port and Select USB001 (Virtual Port for USB) -> Click Next -> When it ask you to install a printer driver Select HP from the Manufacturer and Select HP psc 1600 series -> Click Next -> I just left the default printer name -> I chose not to Share the printer -> Print the Test Page . That's it .

I came to this page a couple of times (via Google)whilst finding a solution to the above issue so have registered just to post this solution
Everything seems to work just fine .

    Full functionality?

I was curious as to weather you were able to achieve the full functionality with the Photosmart 2410? I have had the basic windows (7) drivers installed to print, but have to use windows fax and scan, and I am not able to send color faxes from the printer.... Seems like someone has to know a work around driver installation to use the printer as intended, with all the bell and whistles! I was just looking at purchasing another printer, but the reviews are either 5 stars OR 1 star on the similar new HP models, so I am hoping for a fix!!! I have always liked this printer....

I have a PSC 2610, and know that the "HP Photosmart and Officejet Full Feature Software and Drivers" download for that printer probably has what you are looking for

You might want to try playing around with that, and see if you can get the utilities from there......
