HP Compaq nx9010 sound (rebranded ALi/Conexant) needed

    Hello,

I found this thread here and on first page, post #10 there was a driver that should be exactly what I need for my notebook. Sadly the file is gone now, does anyone still have it and can repost it?

I posted all details about my sound card on the last page of the mentioned thread, post #60, but there was no answer to it for three weeks now.

It would really be nice if someone can help me, everything is working fine but sound which is crackling with the drivers supplied by windows update.

Thank you for your answer. The .cab file has the same number in filename as in the mentioned post so it could be the one I searched for. Two files are identical to the ones currently installed but one is different.

I'll try the driver tomorrow (I have installed Win7 on a separate hard disk for testing only, currently the original HDD with XP is in use, so I have to change the HDD) and report back if the sound issue is solved.

I have PMed the original poster for info on the dead link. He is not a daily visitor.

You could PM him as well and receive an email when he responds.

This weekend I finally had time to test your driver: Unfortunately no change compared to the driver installed by windows update. Sound is still playing but with crackling. Good enough for system beeps but not for longer sound pieces or watching dvds etc. because playback is heavily interrupted. Works fine of course under XP.
