    oops!

OK --according to sony support site--your machine is vintage 2008--there is a 'camera driver' listed vers 2.0.21.155 released 9/22/2008 and was written for Vista

    Sony eSupport - VGN-NS140E - Support

they show no drivers for win7 32 or 64 bit

the vista driver may work-the 5u875 unknown device error may be a...'glitch' try disabling that device in device manager--IF machine then functions as expected--then you can probably delete the 'unknown device'

no problem---looks as though the solution involves spending $$--that's the problem with 'older' tech (although 4 years shouldn't be that old) that is why I build all my machines--and only 'update' anything when absolutely necessary.

yea it's a link for driver detective lol. I have tried the vista driver which didn't work so it looks like I'm sol. not about to spend $80 with sony when I could just buy a usb webcam for a fraction of that
