Network Drivers Need To Be Uninstalled/Reinstalled Help

win 7 64, need to uninstall my network drivers, and reinstall new ones that I downloaded from support.dell.com.

Please assist in what I need to do? Do I just simply delete the network drivers? If this has been addressed please copy/paste the link to the right thread.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have the new network drivers? If so,... where?

To uninstall: Goto "device manager"->network adapters->right click on the network adapter->uninstall. Press OK maybe a couple of times. Now reboot

They are in c/dell/drivers. Should I have them in another location? I after removing the drivers, I restarted in safe mode bc that is the only way I can connect to the internet, but restarting either way did not reinstall the drivers....

    What next?

Did you remove the driver already? You can connect to internet in safe mode.... impossible. you did uninstall driver isn't it?

    What files are in c/dell/drivers?

You CAN connect using safe mode (with networking) to the internet. You CAN't using normal startup? Is that the reason why you wanna reinstall drivers?

Exactly. Win Network diag tells me it's ATT's fault. My mom's computer connects to the internet, and the router is fine, lights are in proper working order.

And yes, I can connect in safe mode to the internet, but not default mode, or whatever it's called.

And yes, the drivers are unintalled. Starting in safe mode or regular mode doesn't fix the prob.

I must clarify, it was connecting, in that I was getting wireless bars, but with the '!'. Now it won't connect in 'safe mode' either...i guess because the drivers are gone....

I can only connect in safe mode. I didn't know this until yesterday. Safe mode with networking I might add. If I start my computer with F8 it gives me the options of safe mode and safe mode with networking. That's how I'm doing it.

Atheros, and all drivers for my wireless internet card.

    ATT's fault... what is ATT?
So you are talking about a wireless network dirver. Were you able to browse (not anymore) the internet? Becaue an "exclamation mark" normally means there's a problem.

Give me the list of files in c/dell/drivers

In folder c/dell/drivers is a file called setup or setup.exe? Nowhere else in subtree?

What I did when I downloaded drivers from dell it had me save them in a folder, it recommended the dell/drivers one. Each one of those files has it's own folder in dell/drivers, and yes, each driver in its folder has a setup program.
