Inspiron n5040 Webcam, Driver Nowhere to be Found

I have checked my Dell Resource CD for drivers, I have also checked Dell's website for drivers for this specific machine and on top of that I have tried searching in Google myself.

I can not find the driver for this integrated laptop webcam anywhere. Things still work like G+ hangout, Skype, etc. but webcam quality is lower (lower screen res.) and Dell's webcam software will not work without this driver.

What else can I do? Does anyone know where I can find this?

Post on the Dell users Laptop forum. Someone there should be able to help you.

Windows would have automatically installed the drivers for your webcam.

Dell webcam Central is an application. You may download it from Dell webcam central dell n5040 at PTF.

    Hope this helps.

Dell Webcam Central will not work without the Dell driver.

Like I said, the webcam works with things like Google Plus/Google video and Skype so I'm sure Windows has some sort of driver for it, I even tried going to devices and searching but it says the drivers are current... But it's not the Dell driver, and it seems to have a significant screen res. reduction because of this. It is only 320x240 when before (with the driver) it could go higher. :/

And I will try Dell's community website as well.

Check out here: Using and Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software | Dell

If you find anything else please let me know.

( After a clean install on my DELL laptop (Inspiron 1120, 7 Home Premium 64bit), I did install Webcam Central - DELL had provided one Resource CD exclusively containing Webcam Central - and it runs on Windows driver only. I am not sure whether some other laptops require DELL drivers.)

I am not sure either, but I know that I got no extra CD exclusively for Webcam Central software. I just know that mine will not run with webcam software like this (Dell's software or others) and things it does work with have significantly lower quality, like I said before.

So I will also try this and let you know. Thank you.
