Toshiba Satellite L735 Clean Win7 Install Drivers
Hi all,
First off, thanks for all the help in advance; I'm a Mac native and my girlfriend's PC is making me endlessly frustrated (haven't used the OS in years).
Here's the backstory: My girlfriend's laptop went in for a repair regarding her battery; somehow the idiot at the computer store managed to destroy her hard drive in the process. So, instead of paying the $250 it would've cost to install a new hard drive, I bought one myself and put it in. That's all fine and dandy. I downloaded Windows to a disk, booted it up and did a fresh install of Windows 7. It works great except that I'm missing a few drivers. This is where I get stuck.
I ran a missing drivers detection software which shows me that I'm a missing the following:
- Network Controller
- PCI Simple Communications Controller
- Unknown Device
- USB2.0-CRW
All of these missing drivers are preventing me from connecting to the Internet.
Likewise, I noticed her screen resolution is stretched and large. Not sure how to fix that, but I presume it's related to the missing drivers.
I guess my questions are: a) did I complete the Windows 7 install properly or did I miss some sort of vital step that is causing all this? b) If I did all this correctly, where can I locate the drivers?
She is running a Toshiba Satellite L735 with a newly installed WD 500GB Blue Scorpion HD; we're running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I'm not sure where to find the mother board info, but will gladly supply it if someone could tell me where to locate it.
Again, all help is much appreciated.
Thank you!
Erica
