Code (38) ethernet controller driver issue.

First post here. ~~So I recently dealt with a virus, and I reformatted my PC. Everything is working fine, however I cannot connect to the internet via direct connected through cable to my router.

    Manufacturer: Cyberpower Inc.

    Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60 GHz

    RAM: 8 GB

    Operating System: Windows 7 service pack1 64-bit

I saw another post about the same issue that was fixed by getting a motherboard specified driver. I don't know if I can use those drivers seeing as how I don't have the same motherboard. Atleast I don't imagine. I don't know how I'd go about finding out what motherboard I have. I'm a bit of a noobie here.

Hi Chris and welcome to W7 Forums

This sounds very much like a driver issue. Either it is missing, or it has not installed correctly. Whatever the case, we cannot help you any further until we have details of what hardware we are dealing with. Since you are more than likely to be using a desktop, the make/model number of the motherboard (or computer manufacturer if it is Dell, HP, etc.) will be of great assistance. For laptops, we will still need the manufacturer/model number.

This Tutorial should help you fill in the required information: System Info - See Your System Specs
