Webcam driver is installed but not working

Hi. I have an emachines em355 netbook with a Windows 7 professional in it. My webcam doesn't seem to work. I mean, it's working but i need a third-party application(Skype, webcam browser app like Neave) in order to use it. The device manager says it's installed and works just fine. How can i access my webcam directly? I saw other laptops and they have this webcam icon when you open My Computer. Mine doesn't have any. Also, I installed every available/recommended/compatible driver, each was installed perfectly but still, no direct access to webcam. Please help me.

Well man I had same problems earlier. I think you should go to your netbook's vendor website and download the latest diver and install it ( in my case it was ACER and I downloaded Camera_Chicony_1.1.74.216_W7x64W7x86_A from their website ). Also uninstall some stupid apps like freecorder 7 which added some screen capture filter in my webcam and damaged it
