CD/DVD drive not reading

Hi, I bough a new laptop 2 weeks ago (Asus with windows 7) and decide it was the time to install Microsoft office today, what a surprise the CD drive can't read anything...I've tried CD, DVD and Blue ray nothing work!

Basically, when I click on the DVD RW drive it open the DVD reader and said <please insert disc into drive>. Then, it start reading for 2 seconds, stop before opening anything and bring me back the same error <please insert disc into drive> like if there was nothing in the drive. I think the drive itself is functional it is only a reading issue. I found some tips but nothing work for me.

I tried :
- the Microsoft fix it scan and everything i found on Microsoft support website. Troubleshooting ended saying <CD/DVD drive is not readable not fixed>
-Drive properties says <this device is working properly>
-update <drive is up to date>
-to deleted upper and lower filters and restart the computer

what do?
please help and by the way I have basic knowledge about computer so I need full explanations

That drive is most possibly faulty and needs replacing. It should be covered by the warranty and you should return it ASAP.
