Windows 7: RICOH SD card reader/writer not working

Hi all,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z91DS running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and after a recent re-install of windows 7 my memory stick / SD card reader/writer refuses to work.

Before the re-install I used the same card as I am using now. A Toshiba SDHC class 10 16GB card.

In device manager the device shows as working and the drivers say they are up to date. Unfortunately I have been unable to find drivers on either Sony's support website or on Ricoh's site that work.



In "My computer" the device shows but when I pop in an SD card and double click the drive icon it just asks me to please insert a card in the reader although the card is already in there.

The LED light doesn't flash when I insert my SD card so I really don't know what to think.

I have searched the forums, Google, tried cleaners, fixers and Ricoh driver packages. Nothing works!

Any help and suggestions are appreciated. I will go through any basic steps you recommend to get this to work as it is killing me that I can't get this to work as my SD card reader is used daily as I am a photographer
