Clean installed Windows 7, multiple drivers missing.

This is not XP. Win7 decides which drivers it wants and installs them via Windows Updates.

Your confidence in Win 7 in astounding, but misplaced. I'm in the same situation, and not only are the drivers for the Universal Serial Bus not in HP's driver downloads, but Win 7 updates comes up with nothing... I have ll the drivers except these and it's driving me nuts.
I wish the poster that said he searched all over and finally found them, would have completed his post by letting us know where he found them...

Those SM Bus drivers will often be in the chipset, as stated in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .

As also stated one should run all rounds of Important and Optional Updates, after first enabling Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3). After reboots keep checking for more Updates until no more are offered.

Then as also stated and repeated by Theog above, import any drivers still missing in Device Manager.

If your PC manufacturer doesn't have a chipset posted for Win7 or Vista, then go to the Intel or AMD Support Downloads webpage, download and install the chipset for your model. You can use their scanner to help find it. Or you can post back in our Drivers forum which will find any drivers for you.

Whether you like it or not, this is how drivers are handled in Win7. We are not going back to XPired methods.

That's not entirely true.

SM Bus Controller is a data controller for slow speed devices. It's not always resolved by the chipset drivers. When it's not, it means the controller is part of a 3rd party device on the motherboard. (often some type of memory card reader). Locate and install the drivers for the 3rd party m/b device (like a card reader)

If you need further help, state your computer or motherboard vendor and model number.

List any Problem devices

Make sure devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so

Then generate a DirectX report
1. Click the Start Orb, enter dxdiag in the search box. Hit Enter
2. If you're running 64bit Windows, you'll see a Run 64bit DxDiag button. Click it to get a 64bit version of the report
3. Click Save All Information button. Save to your desktop and attach it to your next post
