Izabel, Something tells me that you have to setup the serial port before you can use a driver, The serial port used by most systems is com1:

Serial ports are not like USB ports and notice when you plug something into them. You first have to activate it with a baud rate and some other commands.

Also, some 25 pin connections to your computer could be a parallel port which are normally a female 25 pin on your computer whereas serial are either 9 pin or 25 pin male ports.

What kind of cable is on your tape drive.??
is it a 25 pin? and is the plug side male or female?

Overnight 20gb disappeared... DBL.DB???
It did this once before and I did a chkdsk and it fixed it but this time around its not working. My windows folder now sits at 50gb which is a ton for being there is very little on this pc. There is a strange file called DBL.DB that is in my temp folder sucking up 26gb. Cant delete it, no clue...

TreeSize reports that in my C: drive I have 20GB of files and in my I: drive i have 40GB files all with no extension. It does not seem possible to show where these files are in Windows Explorer. I would like to know what they are so that I decide whether to delete them.

Boot drive missing ~20GB
I have noticed recently that around 20GB of space has just disappeared of my C drive, in the last week or so. The drive is an 120GB OCZ Vertex SSD so that is a huge chunk. How can I determine whats taking up this space? Disk cleanup was no help. See below for the discrepancy. Not sure where...
