Need driver for Driver optiarc AD-7713H Toshiba Laptop

My DVD is no longer recognized by the system. I have attached the device driver screens for the drive as well as a screen of my system info. I have tried searching for the driver for this drive with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My machine is a Toshiba A665-S5170

    Thanks for any assistance offered!

When I built my comp, it came with an Optiarc DVD burner.
    It was DOA.
Contacted Optiarc and told me to run this test - Opti Drive Control website

It showed failed and they sent me another one.

That one died after about a week.

I threw it away and will NEVER buy another one.

You can run the test, and if it is under warranty, get an RMA, and sell it.

There are NO 3rd party drivers for CD/DVD drives (any drive). The built in Windows drivers are all that is needed.

Not sure why its showing as a Code 52 error since its the Microsoft Driver.

Try this. In the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the drive to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Check the box to also uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC and when Windows starts it should detect and reinstall it. This fixes many problems and may take care of this one.

    Uninstall/ReInstall

Thanks. I tried that when it first happened with no result. I had been getting info that seemed to indicate the driver is corrupted. Any way to get a clean driver without a complete reinstall of windows ?

    Thanks for your help

Uninstalling the driver, with the device, should install a new Microsoft Driver.

Although I haven't had much luck with the Microsoft "Fix it", its worth a try.

    DVD Driver

    Thanks,
I removed the driver and device via device manager and rebooted.
    No change.
It shows the same in device manager, with yellow warning icon and same message.
Tried 2 fix its and they did not fix the problem either....

    Thanks for the attempt.

    See if it helps!

    Delete Lower & Upper filters

If the drive appears correctly again you will have to reinstall your burning software or upgrade the GearAspi filter to a newer one in order to have it digitally signed by MS.

    Optiarc Driver Error

NoN, Thanks so much!! That did the trick. There was just one reg entry that needed deleted. Rebooted and drive works fine! Really appreciate your help with this. You are a life saver (or to be more accurate, A drive saver)
