hey, you have nearly the same specs as my laptop (only CPU is a bit faster), i got the Synaptics pointing device, JD media card reader and the display driver nailed down (i was surprised that they had Windows 7 officially supported at Nvidia already) but unable to find the IDT audio driver. where can you get that?

Hi, Update directly from HP.com and set your notebook/desktop model in support section to have the right drivers.

All is there and some vista works as well some xp... I did, and SD card works fine, sound, etc...

Windows update do the "HP-Input-Quick launch Buttons" drivers update, but Quickplay doesn't work. Sound controls does.

No way to set those dvd s buttons...

Umm, yea, mine work too, but i cant tell, if i muted my volume or if they're unmuted as the mute button will normally change red under vista (im using a dv5 1134-tx HP laptop). This is necessary as i regularly use the laptop at libraries and it'd be kinda embarrassing and annoying if it blurted out the boot sounds.

I tried installing the Vista x64 drivers as it said it didnt matter, but they still dont work. Im not even sure i installed them, as no warnings for driver failure appear. W7(windows 7) doesnt even seem to know i installed a driver for the device =S.
windows seven has an update (optional ) HP quick launch my mute button hasnt worked since my install of 7 and now it works and turns a niv=ce shade of orange.lol try that look into the update settings and search the updates there were 12 optional as of today I chose my 4 that pertained to my Box an HP DV9500 17" , However quick play does not function I am in the process of that mission now

    hahaha ok ok!

to set this straight,( on hp website) i selected my laptop model, then when it asks for OS select vista or Vista 64bit, as i had to since im using W7 x64, then locate the quickplay buttons update, and install, reboot and it should work fine :)

    go to the hp website
HP United States - Computers, Laptops, Servers, Printers and more

Put in your model number then select you operating system

download the audio drive use the one that said something like this " codec" and the quicklauch driver

install audio driver - i think that i restart the machine

then install the quicklauch driver and might need another restart.

    should work now

So i'm having trouble installing that audio driver. I have a dv2000 and would also like my buttons and quickplay working as windows media player is giving me issues with a dvd. When trying to install I get an erro can't find the media device for this driver. any help would be great, thanks.

flip your laptop over and give us the exact model number, i know it is the DV2000 series but i need a little more than that to get the drivers for you.
