“SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC” driver for “Windows 7 64bits”, “Sony Vaio VGN FZ 240 E”

Could you please help me in finding the driver for “SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC” for “windows 7 64bits” for my “Sony Vaio VGN FZ 240 E” laptop.

I checked the site:

Sony eSupport - VGN-FZ240E - Support

but sounds not to include:
1. Sounds card: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
2. Web camera: Sony visual communication camera vgp-vcc8
3. Display Card: Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family

SigmaTel was purchased by IDT about 5 years ago and rebranded IDT. Some older SigmaTel devices will not work with the newer IDT drivers.

Do a internet search for IDT drivers, but no guarantee they will work.

The generic Windows installed basic function HD Audio Codec drivers, if installed may be the best you can do.

I tried the IDT site but sounds to be very confusing.

Could you please elaborate more in how can find any driver that can solve my issue?

IDT does not supply drivers. Any IDT drivers must come from PC vendors, if available.

Here is the Sony drivers. Try them. They are for Vista, but Vista drives work OK in Windows 7

Never thought that Vista drivers work for windows 7

I tried the file STDAUD-01487701-US.EXE (of the Vista) from the site below and it worked fine for windows 7.
