    Updating chipset driver, now a problem

    So I have an X58 Asus board. I updated my chipset using 9.3.0.1026.

    My set up was crucial SSD using the Intel RST 11.7.0.1013

    After running the chipset installer, nothing happened. Read that this may occur so I can use the installer + -overall

    Rebooted

    Now the SSD is using ACHI. So tried to install the Intel RST 11.7.0.1013 to go back to that and I get;

    "The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers. Setup will exit"

    How do I get the Intel RST back or should I just revert back to the older chipset?

    Update: So I think this is how to fix this, but not sure.

    I went to the Intel site and downloaded the floppy version of RST. Using WinZip I extracted the files to my desktop.

    Then I went to do a manual driver update, but I get two files and I am not sure which one to use.

    iaAHCI.inf or iaStorAC.inf

    I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, hard drive is a single SSD

    If you have the floppyx64 folder downloaded and unzipped, you can go into device manager and right click, update driver... Then just point to that folder... You don't need to decide which .inf to use...

    If that doesn't work, you'll have to go the manual "Have disk" method and chose which driver to use... Shouldn't be hard to do...

    Thanks. Friend of mine gave me this

    iaAHCI = single drive setups
    iaStorAC = RAID setups

    All good now, system definitely nippier.
