    Drivers needed for Sony Vaio

    Hi
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit on a Sony Vaio model number VPCEB4JOE. My hard drive recently died so I had a new one put in and now I'm noticing a few things I could do before I can't do now. Apparently it's because I need drivers (I'm completely useless with this stuff!). I can no longer connect my laptop to a projector - it used to just be a case of the windows key + P, and now it doesn't respond when the projector is plugged in. Other bits like the volume graphic has gone (I can still adjust the volume, I just don't get the sliding bar), the little pop up dash has gone etc I (not so bothered about that actually!).
If anybody could advise me where I could go to download the stuff I need I would be massively grateful.
    Thanks in advance!
    Marie

    Hi,

You can try here for drivers and updates, but this is for VPCEB4JOE_WI, which is closest on site, but you need
to check with your model, should be fine though:

    http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VPCEB4J0E_WI/updates

Also this site, this lists your model, but you have to register at bottom to get access
    to downloads/support:

    http://www.sony.co.uk/product/vaio-e-series/vpceb4j0e

    Also navigate to:

Start > left click Computer > click system properties
In the left pane click on Device manager.

Post back if there is any yellow triangles next to devices.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know how you get on.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave

Thank you for your super quick reply and sorry for my complete lack of a response! I checked Start > left click Computer > click system properties > Device manager and there was a little yellow triangle next to other devices "unknown device" I clicked on this and it is Intel(R) HM55 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller - 3B09. I tried to find drivers online but nothing worked....

    Any ideas?

    Thanks again

    Marie

    Hi Meod,

Please try if you have not already:

Start > computer > system properties > device manager

Navigate back to 'unknown device' and right click on

    Intel(R) HM55 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller - 3B09

    and click Update Driver software

then when the new window appears click on the Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software

    Let me know the outcome

    Cheers
