Installing Intel® Chipset Software while external Hard drive pluggedin

    Hello

I have some questions to ask

Recently I have done a fresh install of window 7 professional but when I was installing "Intel® Chipset Software(Intel Cougar point chipset driver)(SB bus controller) while my External hard drive was plugged In( For drivers to be installed) the screen went black for maybe a few seconds and my external hard drive was disconnected when the installation was completed it connected back to the laptop.

    1) I was quite scared when the external hard drive was disconnected , if installing Intel Chipset® Software(SB Bus controller) could this damage external hard drive or the laptop as the screen went black and the external hard drive was disconnected then reconnected. Does Intel Chipset® software causes voltage spike( What I mean is if the external hard drive is using maybe 5V but the Intel software made it jump to 8V/Laptop screen at 50V but Intel Software jumping to 55V)

    2) Is there any rule or difference on install which driver orders because I installed it in my way in which I think what should come first(like Intel Graphics then Nvidia and maybe wireless card)

Driver install order doesn't matter. But of course you first have to install USB drivers before installing an usb printer driver.
