    Dell - Support

This is a bios update for Vista. Now I did read that you are running windows 7.
This link takes you to a page with in Dell that has the answers for many of questions. You might check here first.

I just checked dell's support site for the e1405, and I don't see it. Look at the OS the wifi driver is available for and see if you can find the driver from the hardware manufacturer.

    Drivers & Downloads

This is about as close as you will find. This link is for the Vista 64 bit downloads. You might have to contact Dell directly to see if they can help. Here is the FTP site for all of Dell's drivers and software. You have to know exactly which one you need as these are listed under Dells related data. This is not a customer locked out site so it is free for all users to download what they need as long as they know exactly the correct download needed. ftp1.dell.com

You probably have the Intel 3945ABG chipset. Just go to Intel's website and download the Win7 drivers from Intel.

Tap fn and f2 to see if the wifi is turned on or off. The green light beside the caplocks icon should flash off and on.

As for the drivers, the Vista drivers of the same bit will work fine with the exception of Bluetooth. As you just installed Windows 7, I advise you to look at my A Clean Install of Windows 7 on Dell Systems wiki found in my signature.
