Compatibility issues after downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7  

Ok, so hi everyone again and sorry for this but yes... I just downgraded from Windows 8 and so far I'm not very happy for a few reasons (more like problems) that I really need help with... So, before I go into exposing my problem I'd just like to give some background so you know where I'm at:

Instead of doing a so called downgrade and going through all that process of contacting the manufacturer and asking for the software required I decided to go full-on cowboy and take my chances doing a clean install of Windows 7; So I booted from the disc and got some problems (which I later fixed) with the whole partitions thing (I ended up deleting all of them and having only 1 partition filled with unalloc'ed space to which I installed Windows 7 (x64 BTW)); after that I got everything going and I once again ran into some issues, this time I had no Internet Connection either wireless or wired...

Long story short, I went to Samsung's site for a product I believe is equal or at least very simillar to mine (my laptop is a Samsung NP350-V5C-S04PT) and I downloaded the x64 drivers for the wireless LAN (got that working) and downloaded the both x64 and x86 drivers for the LAN device (also got that working) I was happy! But then... More issues....

I noticed I wasn't being able to switch to the aero graphics configuration, which made no sense considering the computer has a fairly good graphics setup and once more I got myself to the device manager to see what's going on... Everything seems fine but this is an explanation that needs a few screenshots to be clear:

. First of all, here's my config (most of it, what I believe actually matters):

Processor: i7-3630QM (2.4GHz, Max 3.4GHz/6Mb)
Memory: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz 2 x SODIMM (memória máxima 8GB)
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon™ HD7670M 2Gb DDR3
HDD: 750 GB S-ATA II (5400 rpm)
Drives: DVD+RW Super Multi Dual Layer (S-ATA)

.Now, here's my screenshot of the device manager which is pointing out some problems that I can't seem to fix with USB stuff and an other thing (which honestly isn't of the utmost importance)... oh well...



.And here's the message I get/got after going to ATI's se and trying to download the appropriate drivers for my system and graphics card (this one's really quite weird):



Since not a lot of people know portuguese I'll translate it:

"It is not possible to download AMD Catalyst Mobility due to an hardware/software incompatibility in your computer.
there is no support for your graphical adapter. Contact your notebook supplier for an update for your graphical (not shure if this is graphical or display) adapter."


So... What bothers me most is that I had none of these problems with windows 8... I had some compatibility issues but nothing this bad... Now I can't control how the power is consumed, change any graphical properties... It is really being troublesome, and it was supposed to be for the better...

I'm asking anyone out there who could give me a hand, I am deeply desperate and in need of some serious help... Sorry for all the begging and for the huge post but I had to be sure that I gave all the details.

I get what you're saying, thanks a lot about the drivers for the SM and USB drivers tips but I had a simillar issue with the graphics when I had Windows 8: If I didn't force apps to use the ATI HD card thorugh switchable graphics (setting the setings to high performance) they would end up using Intel HD Graphics (this is a motherboard thing I believe); I had the Catalyst Control driver installed and all on Windows 8 and on the manufacturer's website it slearly states this:

Graphics Card
AMD Radeon™ HD7670M + AMD Radeon™ HD Graphics
2 GB gDDR3 (dedicated) + Shared Memory

Thanks a lot mate, that was a great help, not only did I get the graphics card working again I also solved all other driver issues thanks to your tips, I basically went directly to samsung's site for the specific product because for some reason it wasn't being able to install the most recent version...

So I'll leave the site here in case someone runs into the same trouble once again:
