I've just found out the solution to this. It's really unexpected though. the game i play isn't rail simulator but resident evil revelations, and not on win7 but xp. the exact error occurs every time i exit the game. have tried updating the visual c++, .net framework, directx changing visual setting etc but all aren't related to the error. then i tried running the game as admin, going in the game then exiting, the error was gone. i thought it must be with the running as admin issue, so i tried running the game again as normal user hoping to confirm this. but even as a user, i ran n exited the game flawlessly. how strange, so it wasn't admin issue after all. then i remember, last time i got the error, i have msi afterburner running to monitor the game fps. so this is the culprit, msi afterburner causes the c++ error. in your case, it may not be specifically msi afterburner, but check what other programs are running while playing rail simulator, then eliminate the cause by closing the programs one by one till you find what causes the error among those programs.
