as a standard rule, whenever i'm looking for drivers, the first place i check is the acer download site....my model btw is "aspire notebook 4741" and the chipset driver i have installed now is "Intel(R) HM55 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller v9.1.1.1022".

i have already downloaded the chipset driver....which i believe is v9.1.1.1025 on their site....on more than four occasions. the last being as recent as two weeks ago.

the problem with that chipset download is, after downloading and extracting it, you do not see any .exe file to start the install. i went to the acer forum and there were a couple of posts about this same issue with somebody from acer....i presume....suggesting to get intouch with acer support....i don't know if you've ever tried doing that.

anyway i went inside device manager and pointed the chipset driver update to the folder containing the downloaded driver and the msg i got was that i already have the best driver installed.

i went to the intel site and used their automated utility to find and update intel drivers on the system and the result for that was the chipset driver i have is "valid". whatever that is supposed to mean. so this is why i'm here looking for help.

the next thing i'll like to find out is, will updating the chipset driver install drivers for all these missing drivers? are they all bundled into the chipset driver? because i surely can't identify those drivers on the acer site.

Click on Type in devmgmt.msc inside the Search programs and files box. Press enter once devmgmt.msc comes up below Programs(1) . One Device Manager window opens up Right click on each missing driver choose Properties . On the Properties window click on the Details tab on the drop down menu click on Hardware IDs and take a prntscrn of that of each missing driver please.

Example of what I need ( image below )
