    tascam us-122

    Does any one know if Tascam us-122 external sound device works with 7 x64? If so is there anything special that needs to be done in order to get it to function properly?

    Here is the product:

    There are Vista drivers for the device, try those out and see what happens. Check out the resource tab under the device details. There is a vista download.

    The Vista drivers work just fine for me on windows 7. To install them however, I had to run the installer in compatibility mode (the installer complains and quits if you don't).
    For clarity, here are the exact steps I followed:

    - Download the latest Vista drivers from http://www.tascam.com/products/us-122;9,15,68,19.html;
    - Extract the .exe file from the package;
    - Right click on the extracted exe file, select properties;
    - Go to the compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and in the dropdown box underneath select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)" (any Vista selection will probably work but this is the one that did it for me);
    - Choose OK to save the settings
    - Run the installer by double clicking on it and install as normal

    Hope this helps!

    Quirks

    Thank you very much for your time! Quick question. I had an issue while running my device in Vista. When ever I would restart or turn off my computer the device would cause it to get hung up while shutting down the OS. If I unplug the USB and restart, everything works fine. Is that a known issue? Is there a fix? Would it be better to use the XP drivers and run it in XP mode?

    Only sort of works!

    I have a Tascam US-122, and managed to get the drivers working on my 32bit desktop system by using the right-click compatibility method. However the machine hangs up on shutdown / restart unless I unplug the device.

    On my new 64bit laptop, I can't get any of the drivers to install yet.

    I ran it in compatibility mode for server 2008 and it worked great.

    Just got myself one of these, I downloaded the 3.40F x64 VISTA drivers from their site, ran in compatibility mode, and the drivers work fine. I am just wondering 2 things:

    Is there any software for this product that is used to make fine adjustments to it (the manual refers to some software called US-122 Control Panel I beleive, I can't access that anywhere on my computer)

    and two, has anyone found a way to fix the shut-down problem with this unit connected or is it not possible yet (ie, must unplug the unit before shutting down/sleeping the computer)

    Thanks

    Shutdown Issue Still Unresolved

    Anybody have a solution to the shutdown issue yet? I've gotten the drivers to take just fine using Vista (no SP) as the compatibility option for the installer on Win7 x64, but my box is still hanging at shutdown and it's driving me nuts.

    Thanks for your help!

    I was asking the same thing, from what I understand, after googling/reading, you have to shut it down/unplug it prior to windows shut down unfortunately. I am still waiting for a fix though.
