Windows 7: G530 and currently available 67BL MB drivers incompatible?

G530 and currently available 67BL MB drivers incompatible?

I've built about a dozen Windows 7 Pro boxes with the DH67BL MB and the G530 over the last year (video servers). All are working great, but the last one I built had major issues - I'm assuming with the compatibility of the G530 and the drivers currently available from Intel.

On his latest box, I had major issues after 3 attempts at a clean install, ranging from periodic blue screen restarts (one attempt) to not being able to download Windows Update, MSE or Net4.0 (all attempts- 8E5E03FA error code, among others).

I have been updating the last several builds with the latest BIOS (0160), and using the 'appropriate' drivers from the Download Center.

Note that the graphics driver that specifically stated compatibility with the G530 - GFX-.2875 - is apparently no longer 'signed' and will not load. It is no longer available on the download site, either. So. I use no HD driver, until I find out if any on the site are compatible with the G530.

I am using the latest chip drivers and management engine drivers, as well as interface drivers - some have been 'updated' since the first systems I've built.

I tried every software/registry/Fix It/ you name it I could find, and then tried a different motherboard - no joy. Finally, out of desperation, I tried an i3 instead of the G530, and it works fine. No other changes - just opened it up, and replaced the processor.

I suppose it could be a bad G530, but given the behavior, I'm inclined to believe that one or more drivers currently available for the 67BL are no longer fully compatible with the G530, and 'odd' issues arise.

What - besides driver/registry issues - could cause Windows Update not to update itself, and run properly?

Has anyone seen this with recent G50/67BL builds as well?
