Sorry, I'm a bit of a techno biff....!
I've typed wmic baseboard......
A lot of stuff comes up on the screen, but I can see ASUSTEK Computer Inc and P4R800-VM..... Does this help..?
No problem .. Drivers in the Link below ..
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P4R800-VM
I'm assuming I use the under LAN..? When I've copied it across, I start the setup process and it comes up with 'Setup was unable to complete the installation'..... Any ideas..?
Yes Lan was the right one ... Was there any error code ? .... Are you trying to Install this on Windows 7 ?
No error code.... Just that the set up would not complete.... Yes, I am trying the driver so that Windows 7 will connect to the net. I am now thinking that Windows 7 drivers are not supporting this motherboard..?
You are right there it is just to old .. But lets try the following ..
1. Place the driver installation file on the Desktop.
2. Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties/Compatibility Tab. select xp
3. Click Apply/OK.
4. Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install.
I've given up on it for today, as my brain is about to pop..! I'll look again tomorrow evening... The USB ports work, as I've been using them to copy across files etc. It it cost effective to get a wireless adapter or get a new motherboard..? I don't want to spend over the odds, as all I want is the internet to work..!! Thanks.....
