Your PC has the most current bios version . There is no bios update for Windows 7 as to the PC originally came with Windows Vista .
In general a BIOS update should only be done if it addresses a specific problem you are having. You would not update merely because a newer version is available. A failed update, which can happen even if you do everything right, is a very serious situation.
Sorry VistaKing, perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean here...
but the BIOS has nothing to do with the actual OS but is mainly for the motherboard... regardless of OS. However, it may affect the OS. Example, the OS isn't reading the correct RAM info because of the way, say Win 7, is communicating with the motherboard. In this case a BIOS update would fix the issue on the motherboard so that Windows 7 can communicate with it. In this instance, the BIOS fixed a motherboard issue, not a Windows issue.
Also....
BIOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe fundamental purposes of the BIOS are to initialize and test the system hardware components, and to load an operating system or other programs from a mass memory device. The BIOS provides a consistent way for application programs and operating systems to interact with the keyboard, display, and other input/output devices (through the motherboard). Variations in the system hardware are hidden by the BIOS from programs that use BIOS services instead of directly accessing the hardware.
Anyway please accept my apologies if I've misunderstood you :)
My graphics card won't start up when I install the driver. I'm thinking that updating the BIOS may fix the issue.
Uhhh that could be a number of issues which could have nothing to do with a BIOS update. That said, you need to tell us exactly what got you to the issue you find yourself with?
You also might want to list your complete system specs so that we can see what exactly it is you have, especially the type of video card you have.
And where are you getting the video card drivers from???
Try the driver here. You may have to do it in compatibility mode
