Which Driver for Windows 7 x64 bit Network Controller?
I'll make this as short and sweet as possible:
I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium x64 bit on a custom built computer, and I do not have the motherboard disc (ASUS P8Z77-V). I can not connect to the internet. I am missing the following drivers in the Device Manager:
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
From the NETWORK CONTROLLER Hardware ID, I have the following information:
VEN_168C
DEV_0032
Following the PCI Vendor and Device Lists search of (Vendor: 168C, DEV: 0032), I get the following items:
Device Search Results
Returning 6 matches for: "0032"
Sorted by: Device ID
0x0032 PCI-X to Ultra320 SCSI Controller 0x1000 LSI Logic
0x0035 PCI-X SCSI Controller 0x1000 LSI Logic
0x1100 Fast Ethernet Adapter 0x1186 D-Link System Inc
0x0032 DSP Prototyping & Development Card 0x12BA Bittware, Inc
0x0032 20-bit 2-in, 4-out audio card w/MPEG-2 0x12CB Antex Electronics Corp.
0x0032 AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter 0x168C Atheros Communications Inc.
My question(s):
1) Assuming that I need a NETWORK CONTROLLER, and NOT the ETHERNET CONTROLLER, which is the proper driver that I need to download?
2) Am I barking up the wrong tree, and should I be going based off of the ASUS manufacturers website, and if so, which option on their do I need?
Notes:
My motherboard is capable of both wired and wireless connections, however, I don't have my router setup currently so all that I need immediately is for the wired driver.
