Some work has been done on my computer.
The problem I am having now is that when Explorer is opened up, only the two hard drives ("C" and "D") show. The drives for "A" and my two DVD drives do not show up. They are drive letters "A" (or the floppy drive) and "D" and "E" for the two DVD drives.
How can I fix this please?

D is not going to show up as a dvd player, you said it`s already taken by a hard drive.
And the power cable on your floppy drive may be disconnected, why do you even care about the floppy drive ?
And you posted this in the drivers forum, you are the 2nd person to do that in the last 2 days. LOL

using Disk management you can re-label the disks to whatever you want -- however if a letter is already used then you need to do it in TWO stages.
For example say you already have a HDD labelled D but you want this to be allocated to the DVD writer which is already say labelled F then change the HDD letter to say X and the DVD writer to Y. After this change is complete you can then change the letters again to E and D.

The only time you'll have problems with this is if you have direct links set up to the original volumes or have installed applications to the disks you want to change the letters for.
IMO in any case OS and applications should always be installed on the "C" drive - either on a separate volume or in its own partition. That way if you need to re-install windows you don't lose any of your OWN data and it makes the whole backup / restore / recovery process easier.
Plenty of freebies out their to do this better than the built in W7 backup. Free Macrium is a good one to start with.

I presume you're talking about Windows Explorer, right? There are a bunch of options that you can tweak -- one "hide empty drives" tends to be turned ON by default. Thus, if there is no disk in your diskette drive, the "drive" doesn't even appear.
If you want to see all the "drives", then turn OFF that option.

First, I want to thank you both for your reply and the time you spent trying to help me out. I do appreciate it.
Unfortunately, your suggestions did not resolve my problem, but I kept hunting for an answer and came across this reply sent to another person having the same problem I was. Here is what was written.

I found that my settings as administrator were not propagated through to all the new users. I had to go into each account and under folder options view; 1) Select Show hidden files, folders or drives, 2) uncheck Hide empty drives in the computer folder then 3) in the general, navigation pane select Show all folders.
All drives are visible now.

I thought I had followed the instructions initially but had no success.Then I realized I didn't do the third instruction which was to mark "Show all folders" to complete the fix.
Now, everything is working very well. All my drives including the Floppy and two DVD/CD drives show up on my Explorer permanently.
Maybe this will help someone else out that is having the same problem.

As for that first answer I received from Mark Phelps, I'm not sure he is on the same planet or can even read English. Completely idiotic. Takes all kinds I guess but makes you appreciate replies like I got from you two.
