ricoh networked printer drivers not available for win 7 pro - help

    Hi all,

I have upgraded a clients computer systems from xp pro to win 7 pro (x64). Everything has run smoothly except for a Ricoh multi-function networked printer which the company lease.

When installing the printer which the computers sees. Windows 7 fails to load the drivers for the printer (printer is a ricoh aficio mpc 2800)

I have contacted the lease company but they seem dis-interested as the support package has not been purchased.

I have downloaded the drivers (PCL 6 drivers) from the website http://www.ricoh-support.com/enduser...1-5ba95d44734f

but unable to find any exe. files to action the process or install.

I have directed win 7 to load the drivers from the download but when selecting the file it fails to pick up on any of the docs in the downloaded file.

can anyone advise or help with this?

Please note that there is no server involved. The company has 2 computers linked using a standard switch.

    thanks
    andrew

Hi ascomputers , The pcl 6 driver you downloaded was an .exe file r59622en.exe which should automatically install try redownloading the file , It may have gotten corrupted :)

    hi pebbly,

thanks for the reply. yes it is an exe. file but only for extraction purposes. once you extract the files there are no .exe files extracted.

    hi,

thanks for the replies but no joy. Still runs a .exe extraction and then no .exe files on extraction. I just don't get what all the .dl files etc are for with no run file.
