    USB mouse not working

I have dug through thread after thread trying to figure out how to get my mouse to work. It's a Rosewill wired USB optical mouse. It was working just fine until one day it just stopped working. I've tried different mouses, and the mouse works fine on different computers. I've tried plugging it in different USB ports. I have tried the fix to delete all the USB root hubs, unplugging, removing the battery, draining the power then restarting. I've tried different fixes with the registry, and trying to update the drivers. But nothing is working. Any suggestion is welcomed at this point. Thank you in advance.

    Welcome jjohn609

Have you tried turning off USB (mouse) in the Bios setup. Re-boot, turn it back ON, then Re-Boot again to see if it works ?

Where in BIOS do I turn the USB port on/off for the mouse? I searched but I couldn't find any section where it gives me an option to turn things on/off

IT's not just for the mouse. Usully some sort of option to turn USB devices ON & OFF in the Bios setup.

Doc has a point - check for an option called LEGACY USB SUPPORT or similar in the BIOS, and make sure it is on.

I don't know if doing that caused this, but once I got to the start up page where the different user accounts are it was working, then once I logged into my account, it stopped working all together again and tried to start installing the driver software, and it's no longer working.

May just be a defective mouse.

Are you just a user on this machine or do you have Administrative rights?

It doesn't work on any other account, and I do have administrative rights on my account.
