Samsung series 9 ultrabook keyboard and touchpad drivers

My ultrabook keyboard and mouse have stopped working today, so I presumed hardware problems, but when booting with a usb stick under linux everything works fine. So it cant be hardware.

Is there way to force-load or replace specific drivers during bootup. ?

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply, but there is not a driver for the keyboard on the support site. Just the touchpad.

Control panel reports the device is working properly.

    Hmmm

    Hi
Deleted keyboard from device manager, scanned for new devices & keyboard installed. Instantly re-working. Great !

Touchpad is not showing as present in device manager ( either as standard mouse, Human interface device or anything else ). Installed the downloaded touchpad driver.

    No change. No touchpad.

Made sure the Samsung proprietory 'Function F5' touchpad toggle in 'on'...its on.

External mouse detected & works ok ( hence I can get into 7forums ). External keyboard also detected fine.

Rebooted after each change to device manager, touchpad still not working.

    Running out of options !
Touchpad still fine if I boot into Linux on a usb.

So I guess I still need to find some way to stimulate detection of the touchpad...
    Any thoughts ?

Hi shawfield, Having a look around the internet I find a lot of people with this problem, Fixes range from toggling fn+f5/f10 to closing the lid for 15 seconds to emulate sleep mode to removing /replacing ac power adaptor

Yes saw those posts too. Didnt work for me, although it did happen when I plugged the charger in.
Did a 'SIMPLE RESTORE' using samsung own software, but no good. Did a full restore which instigated a full Samsung driver restore once windows was installed...but guess what...

Only the keyboard works, still no touchpad. Damn

Still trying to understand how it can work under Linux but not Win7...

    Also thanks Bobafet

Still no joy. Only keyboard regardless of whether installed in safe mode or under normal conditions.

    Still works ok in Linux
