That's probably due to the fact that you have a image mounting application(Daemon tools, Alcohol,...)

You should uninstall those programs and then do the upgrade of Windows 7

Be shore to download the latest version's of these programs to ensure compatibility with Windows 7.

ok i already uninstalled it then it ask me to uninstall win mobile device center 6.1 and i did
now it ask me to uninstall these:

  • These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.
    • Mobile devices: HTC USB Sync
    • Mobile devices: SmartPhone USB Sync
    • Network adapters: Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter
and I have no idea where to look for these drivers or what apps to uninstall

These are from the mobile device center.
Are you shore you uninstalled it correctly?
Did you unplugged the device?
Do you have another "Smartphone" type of device that is connected to that computer?

Anyway disconnect all of your USB devices (except Mice and keyboard lol)
And if it still shows unninstall all of those devices in your Device Manager.

In the extreme case that nothing works backup your data and do a clean install of your Windows 7.

Just to keep it simple I would unload everything you need on to an external, use a linux distribution that will run from the cd drive to boot and wipe out your partition completely then insert your windows 7 cd and let it build the partition brand new. This keeps things as clean as possible.

*Before you do this, double check that you can get drivers for all your devices from the computer manufacturer.

Why would you boot from a Linux and format the hard-drive when you can do it from the Windows 7 disk?

What if I already did the Windows 7 upgrade with Daemon Tools installed and now I can't get the IDE controller to work for my SD card? Any way to fix this?

Thanks.
