Okay I will try this.

Sorry I wasn't able to reply for a long time. Had my final exams.

I uninstalled the Intel USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller. Just that. Then I followed the instructions about allowing Windows to install a driver. I run Windows Update but it didn't find any updates for USB 3.0. Also, after I enabled this setting: Device Installation Settings It started to say that I don't have a driver for my USB. I have a driver for my USB Controller. The keyboard that I'm using now is wireless and its receiver is plugged in a USB port. I tried my external HDD too and it is working. So I don't know why it is saying I don't have a USB Controller.

Look in Device Manager for any devices with a yellow ! indicating problems. If there are any, double click on each then from Driver tab click Update driver and then Automatically.

When you attempted to install the USB 3.0 driver, was its installer causing the BSOD's? If so see if you can unzip the driver file to browse into from the Driver tab>Browse to try to get it to pick up the driver.

Have you had any errors telling you that you don't have USB 3.0 on the PC? What is telling you that the driver is not installed? Device manager? Try what I suggested above for that and any other missing drivers.

Try also installing the latest chipset for the PC model.

Yes there is a yellow warning icon. But when I try to update, it says it can't find online.

When I try to install the USB 3.0, I get BSODs. It will happen almost at the end of the installation. But after I restart my PC, it will be in my Device Manager but I think it is corrupted since it crashed before the end of the installation. It doesn't tell me that I don't have USB 3.0 ports.

Is there a question whether you actually have USB 3.0 ports on the PC? Google its specs.

If the USB 3 does show installed in Dev Mgr afterwards then which device is in error now?

Pay attention during the USB3 driver install to where it unzips the file, then browse into there to try to pick up the driver from the Device Manager.

You asked me this: "Have you had any errors telling you that you don't have USB 3.0 on the PC?"

This is my answer: It doesn't tell me that I don't have USB 3.0 ports. (I meant I have USB 3.0 ports)

I haven't reinstalled the USB 3.0 driver yet because it will cause me another BSOD.

It's a problem that we cannot access the Support Downloads webpage for your model since it is in Japanese. Otherwise we could help you find the driver.

Are you sure you have chosen the downloads page for your exact MSI model including extension, or using Serial or other product ID if allowed?

Once certain of that does it offer a single USB 3.0 driver for your bit version, or more than one? I would try them all.

If you've exhausted all of the correct choices there, then try tracing the make/model of the device using Hardware Identification. We can help you do this if needed. Then google the Win7 driver for that exact model device.

In rare cases for drivers on older hardware I suggest using DriverMax which can be good finding a reluctant driver. This would be the first time I suggest it for WIn7 since I cannot find the driver for you when I can't even read the Downloads pages. But I would try it for it's one free daily download to see if it finds that driver based on its Hardware ID and other identifiers it uses. It is a pretty good program but not usually needed for Win7.

I tried that one here's the result: PCI Vendor and Device Lists

Edit: It is working now. I googled "Intel USB 3.0 Driver" then it led me to the Intel Site. And I was surprised I didn't get any BSODs. Wow. Thanks a lot dude!

Good, you now know how to manually search for a driver via Hardware ID.

Any other performance issues? Win7 should run perfectly on adequate hardware with never any hangs or slowdowns.

If so then save externally now a Win7 backup image so you have a way to recover in 20 minutes. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

Your first line of defense is always System Restore, so if you can spare disk space I would also apportion more for restore points so that they last longer: System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage. Remember you can restore if unbootable from the installer System Recovery Options.

Finally to always have the latest copy of your files backed up externally and maybe even sync them to your other devices, look over Sync, Backup and Store your Files to the Cloud with Skydrive - Windows 7 Forums

When I check the "USB Controllers" in Device Manager, "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller" is properly installed.
Have tried the Intel USB 3 for the MSI CX70?
