    DVD Problems

I am new to the forum. If I have posted this question in the wrong place, please forgive me.
My problem is that I cannot format, erase, load documents, pictures on my DVD drive. Whenever I put a new disk (CD-RW) it tells me that the disk is write protected. My dvd is TSST corp CDRW/DVD TSL462D ATA Device.
Also when I put a disk into the DVD it tells me "no disk".
I would appreciate all the help. Thanks

I have the same issue; no upper or lower filters in the DVDROM registry...I noticed that my windows 7 updates weren't going through and did a manual update last night. Today no DVDROM. Device manager doesn't recognize that there is a drive at all and doesn't detect anything. Also tried Mats_Run,dvd.exe but that didn't work.

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thanks,
    John

i need to re-create the lower and upper filters

Hello, I followed the advice of deleting the lower filters in order to fix the error that i was getting ( F:\ The specified path does not exist.) when i was trying to play a DVD, thinking that the F drive (CD/DVD RW drive) was not recognized. I still get the same error but now the AVI files are not recognized anymore either ( after deleting the lower filters).
Can anyone who's got the upper and lower filters for win 7 x64 homepremium edition copy their filters and post a link on here so i can re=create in that way my missing filters ?
Im also wondering if upgrading to windows 7 ultimate will re-create automatically the missing registry filters ?!?
    thanks people!
