HP printer officejet T45 on X64

    OS: Windows 7 X64Printer: HP Officejet T45
Problem: Windows recognizes this printer and lists it as 'unspecified device'. Attempts to load a printer driver which worked in XP X64 is unsuccessful as also is when I tried to load/find its driver through device manage>listed printer>search through internet. HP says NO PLAN to support driver for this printer for x64.

I hate to discard an old but working printer. Any suggestions?

    Hello Pra7,

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

I had this same problem with my Okidata 3200n laser printer. Website said they where working on a Vista x64 driver (date Feb. 2007). Yea right. Got the XP x64 driver and installed through device manager and it worked. :) I never used XP, but worth a try. It does need to be a 64 bit driver though. Don't know for sure if XP x64 had some way to use 32 bit drivers.

Thanks garysgold. From internet, I had downloaded XP x64 driver for this printer. In XP x64, itworked but the same driver refuses to install on Win7 x64 even though I tried to install it in copatibility mode for XP. I will hope someone can suggest a solution.
