    USB problem with some devices

    Hi

I have an Asus Z87-DELUXE motherboard. For about a week a discovered an USB problem. Whan I plugged in my SanDisk Card Reader I couldn't read anything from it and in my computer it just loading. To get it stop loading I had to reset the computer. I solved the problem with "Button Application" for the SDDR-189 and SDDR-199 Readers/Writers". I guess I got the driver from this app. Everything was fine!

But now I ran into the same problem when I connected my Samsung Galaxy S2. I'm pretty sure it has worked one time before (the first time I connected the phone to my new computer). But now I can't get it to work. I've tried reinstall drivers, uninstall VMWare and disable Intel Virtualization Technology in BIOS (I thought the problem maybe began when I enabled this settings), uninstall Daemon Tools Lite.

I have also downloaded and installed USB drivers from Samsung and KIES. I can transfer files with MyPhoneExplorer and maybe KIES too (haven't tried). But Then I have to reset the computer because windows just trying to find the phone.

    In safe mode it's working!

My USB harddrives and memories is working well.

In the windows log I found this (don't know if it has anything to do with the problem):

Service Control Manager - Timeout (30000 ms) ShellHWDetection - ID-7011
Service Control Manager - Timeout (30000 ms) LanmanServer - ID-7011
Service Control Manager - Timeout (30000 ms) wuauserv - ID-7011

    Microsoft-Windows-WMI - ID-10
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Sounds like a USB driver conflict. I would remove all USB drivers including the KIES from Samsung. Unplug any USB connectors on the mobo. Clean the registry (reboot) and then start to reinstall all you USB drivers. One for 2.0, one for 3.0 to start with and go from there.

Also upload your MSINFO32.nfo file. It will help us to get some necessary info.

    1. Click on the start button
    2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
    3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
    4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
    5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

I uninstalled all USB drivers I could find in Control Panel and Device Manager. Then restarted the PC with reset (mouse and keyboard don't work without USB drivers). I plugged in my phone and it worked. I could transfer files in Windows and then remove it safely :)

Then I tried one more time and it failed. Don't know if it was because I plugged in the USB3.0 port or because it was the second time. Not even the little safe to remove icon showed up. Then I tried uninstalling the drivers again but can't get it to work anymore If I just know which driver to uninstall to get the PC think I never plugged in my phone. Then maybe it will work at least one time after I remove that driver.

I haven't removed the usb connectors on the mobo. If I do, my keyboard and mouse don't work and I can't do anything. Or should I just start the PC like that and then shut it down and plug in everything again?

Now I have installed all drivers and VMWare again...

I upload the "msinfo32" file and hope you find something.

    Thanks for your support!

Try updating Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx .

Also try updating Samsung Kies. SAMSUNG Mobile USB Composite Device Driver (DEVGURU Ver.) c:\windows\system32\drivers\ssudbus.sys ... it is SAMSUNG USB Composite Device Driver. Likely a part of Samsung Kies.

No difference after updating Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver.

I have uninstalled Kies. But I have installed Samsung USB Driver. I think it's where ssudbus.sys came from. But you shouldn't need to install any Samsung drivers to get it work. I'm just trying everything!

Maybe the problem is with all devices that has more than one storage. My phone have one internal storage and the external sd card (2 letters). The card reader has many different slots (4-5 letters).

Try USB Driver - General Fix for Problems.

If still the same, go for a Repair Install

USB Driver - General Fix for Problems
    Didn't work!

But then after a repair everything was working!

I reinstalled some applications which didn't work anymore. Then I got the same usb problem again... So I did a system restore and everything was working!

I figured it out, it was only a setting in Comodo Firewall :) But I still don't know which setting. With the standard settings everythings working like it should. Even after I've done some of my old settings. I'm so happy :) Before I have tried shut down the firewall but I guess it's not that simple. Some process was certainly still running.

    Thank you very much!
