    rocketraid 2310 can't install driver

Added a HighPoint RocketRAID 2310 card to a recent build.

Operating system is on a Samsung ssd.

Have initialized the four wd 1tb caviar black drives and set up two raid1 with two drives on each.

Can't load the driver off of the manufactures cd. Went to the highpoint site and the driver utility wouldn't download. Have found and downloaded what I believe to be the correct driver is a .sys file.

I have no idea what to do with said .sys file to install it on the computer. No doubt this is just my shallow learning curve but help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

I'm afraid you can't install .sys files. All you can do is copy them to folders.

The driver files are located: C:\windows\system32\drivers

But placing the driver there may cause issues / may not work etc, as the device
may need more than 1 driver or additional software to run correctly.

Have you tried the drivers from here:

    cheers

Thanks for the quick response Dave.

Yes, that link is the page that I tried to download the driver utility from. Is highlights as an active button but when I click on it nothing happens.

When I tried to load form the install cd the auto run install said it could not find a device. However, I was able to set everything up thru the rocket raid setup screen that is part of the startup process and the device manager recognizes that something is there. btw it won't update the drive thru the device manager either.

    Any further thoughts?

I should add that I tried from that page to load with the firewall turned off. Also tried by using firefox instead of ie.

    No joy on either.

    Hi,

Just to clarify, are you downloading the driver version 2.3, as shown?

    rocketraid 2310 can't install driver-driver-download.png

I've just downloaded it without issue, when you click on the link it should show
this window at the bottom of the screen so you can d/load the file?:

    rocketraid 2310 can't install driver-dload.png

Also if you have the installation CD, you could right-click the device
in device manager, click update and choose "Browse my computer for driver software",
then direct the installer to the CD and install.

    Hope this helps

    cheers

    update....

    Success!!!

CD option did not work as it only had files up to XP

I was able to get the driver to load thru the device manager by not quite following the read me instructions in the site download as they did not match what came up on the screen. However it did load..... Device Manager no longer shows it exclamation mark.

Now another question if I may: Everything appears to be correct but neither of the RAIDs actually show up under computer or trying to save as.

    Suggestions?
