Problems with printer drivers when dealing with the as400 server

At my job we have an as400 server and have two printers connected to it. PRT01 is a dominatrix printer and is physically connected to the server. PRT02 is a Ricoh Aficio 2051, and the as400 connects to it via a old Dell running XP.

We're currently in a middle of a jig to age out all of the XP computers. Where doing well but we ran into a problem with getting rid of the old Dell. Now we seem to have no difficulty with our Window 7 computers printing to the Ricoh. It's only when we try to make the computer the middle man for the as400 does the print jobs seem to mess up. All of the character will scrunch up for some reason and there seems to be blank spaces in locations there shouldn't be.

Now the only difference I see between the XP and 7 is that there using different drivers. The XP computers is using a RIC661K.dll while the 7 is using a UNIDRVUI.dll driver. Would any of you know how I could force a Window 7 computer to use the XP driver or would you have a different plan on how to get this printing problem fixed.
