Installed Windows 7 64bit and have no drivers, no USB

Hello All,

First of let me thank you in advance for any help or pointers as I've overestimated my abilities and am now totally stuck.

Bought a PC with Windows 8 pre-installed, didn't like 8 and decided to install 7.

Thanks to a lot of articles I was able to get past the most common issues when trying to install 7 over 8.

So here I am installed 7, but have no drivers, literally none apparently as the computer doesn't even recognize me inserting a USB stick with LAN driver.

Is there any way to add drivers now? The only drive that works is the DVD/CD drive as I'm able to boot from there with the Windows 7 install disc. I can only think of possible adding drivers to a CD and during the install where it asks to upload drivers, remove the 7 disc, insert driver disc, upload drivers and continue with install.

Would that work or is there an easier way? OR am I just completely out of luck and now have a pretty blinking flower stand now? :-)

Have a quick look through this, the OP has done the same as you have and needed Windows 7 drivers. The PC model is different but it uses the same motherboard so your motherboard drivers should be available through the links posted.

Welcome Jen

If you have not added much since you did the install, it might be best to wipe the HD and do a new install. But make sure that you are connected to the internet by an ethernet cable. If Windows 7 is connected during the install it will download any needed drivers automatically. Please read several of the Tutorials here as there is a wealth of info on installing Windows 7

Windows 7 64bit

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help! I was able to use the link provided by Boozad to download the LAN driver and once I was able to get online it was fairly easy to update the rest of the drivers. :-)

Doc, I did actually have a connection via Ethernet cable during install, but no drivers were found upon completion of the install. I also thought I'd at least get basic drivers, but no luck. Fortunately I'm all set now. :-)

I wish you both a great rest of the week!
