    No sound after sleeep.

Hey all, not totally sure if I'm putting this in the right forum, but it seemed the closest. I installed 7 Ultimate x64 on my Gateway P-6831FX. Everything went smooth aside from one annoying glitch: whenever my laptop goes to sleep I lose my sound when it wakes up. The only way to get sound back is to either reboot or disable/re-enable my sound driver. I'm using the integrated IDT Audio Device and the driver is fully up to date.

It isn't too big a deal, but kind of annoying having to disable the driver every time I walk away from my laptop for more than a few min. For now I just disabled sleep but that's less than ideal for a battery powered device lol. I haven't found reference to this issue anywhere else yet, but just wondering if anyone else has seen this issue or has heard of a solution?

Hi, I've got the same problem with a PCIe sound card. The Audio service stops working when the PC wakes up.
    Haven't found a solution yet...

I actually was able to solve it. There was a post on another forum about someone having the same prob. with a different Gateway laptop. Someone was able to dig up an updated driver for him on Softpedia and it worked. I gave it a try and it installed and so far seems to have fixed the problem. Gateway really needs to do a better job making updated drivers available. To make things harder, the hardware vendor specifies that they don't provide updated drivers directly and you have to go through the computer manufacturer. No wonder it was so hard to find. IDT refuses to provide it and Gateway never bothers to make updated drivers available. Now someone just needs to get Firefox working correctly under 7 x64 and I'll be a happy camper.
