    Vista Yes, 7 No ?????

So I have an old Dell Dimension 8300, compatible with XP only so no other OS driver support (that's what Mr Dell says). With Vista Ultimate it didn't even see my two RW drives, but all else worked. Now clean install of 7 Ultimate and all is seen but no sound.

Device manager shows 3 things not functioning:

    Ethernet Controller
    Multimedia Audio Controller
    PCI Device Input

Sound appears to be non-integrated PCI type, I see no sound inputs or outputs off back of board.

My problem is how do I as a newbie take working drivers from my Vista Ultimate install disk and apply them in my 7 install for use? Or is that even possible?

Thanks for any suggestions, I have searched high and low, trying many drivers to no avail.

If its an add-in sound card figure out the make and model and look for drivers for it. Remove the card if you have to, to look for anything marked on it.
