Initializing usb device driver software at every boot

Everytime I boot I get "searching preconfigured driver folders" for a list of usb devices on my notebook. Typically this ends with two of the devices saying "ready to use" and 2 or 3 saying failed. Everything looks fine in device manager. This followed the most recent windows update which I uninstalled but the driver issue persists.
