Need HP laptop AMD Radeon HD 8550D disp driver/Win7

Could use a hand finding this Display Driver for 8>7 Upgrade I'm doing via Teamviewer since the HP website has no page loaded for HP Pavilion 17-e016dx Notebook drivers and latest AMD Catalyst won't load a driver.

    Hardware ID from Dev Mgr:

    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_990D&SUBSYS_1984103C&REV_00

I wonder if the reason HP is refusing to support Win7 Upgrades on the newest hardware is because they didn't build 7 drivers for their latest GPU's. If not then Standard VGA has a surprisingly high resolution on this GPU, lacks sleep but hibernates fine. It may be the first time I've settled for VGA on new hardware.

    Thanks!

Hey Greg. Check out the first post on this page pf the thread.

    HP Pavilion 17-e016dx - Page 3 - HP Support Forum - 3062345

In the whole thread, a guy walks someone through getting all the drivers for your model.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Bryan!

I worked from the beginning of that thread to find other drivers, but the GPU has eluded me.

None of the AMD driver verification downloads from that link or elsewhere on their site will install for me. I'm trying the Catalyst download from the link now.

Thanks Solar. I'm trying the beta driver from the same page now. Those Driver Verifiers wouldn't install.

Catalyst Mobility 13.11 Beta Install failed with this log referenced:

    Existing packages
    OEM Application Profiles
    AMD Catalyst Install Manager
    AMD APP SDK Runtime
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable
    AMD SMBus Driver
    AMD SATA Controller Driver
    AMD USB Filter Driver
    AMD Accelerated Video Transcoding
    AMD VISION Engine Control Center

    Other detected devices

    Error messages (none)
I uninstalled all except other chipset elements SM Bus, SATA and USB filter in Control Panel, reinstalled without the bloatware Accelerator package and it completed but still no change from Standard VGA.

Catalyst mobility requires the .NET Framework 4.5 in Win 7 to run properly. Win 7 comes with .NET 4.0. You could install this and try again:

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 from Official Microsoft Download Center

    It's worth a shot.

    YAY! It worked!

Thanks. I knew I should have read through that thread but he didn't list Display in missing drivers in OP, so I only cobbed the links for the ones he listed and stopped reading prematurely. That's the difference between a driver wannabe and pro's like you!
